2015 Robotics Workshops for Teachers

Google has funding 25 NZ school teachers to have a day off teaching (their reliever paid for) while they learn some robotics.

Three workshops will be held, for 7 people each time. They will be led by Sandy Garner, and held at the Department of Computer Science, University of Otago, Dunedin. They will use the LEGO EV3 brick, and the LEGO Education EV3 software as the platform.
Note that this software will also run on the older NXT LEGO bricks.

The workshop will be aimed at teachers of Year 5 to Year 10 students. No robotics or programming experience is necessary.

Proposed course dates
Friday July 17 (FULL)
Friday July 24 (FULL)
Monday July 27 (FULL)
Extra workshop Monday September 7 (FULL)

The relief/travel funding available per school was $250.

Teachers in the Otago/Southland area may benefit from a follow-up visit to their class. Teachers from further afield can receive support via email.
The follow-up is also supported by Google.
